The University of Tulsa College of Law has provided a top-tier legal education for nearly a century. Founded in 1923 by a group of esteemed Tulsa attorneys, the school was initially called the Tulsa Law School and was not affiliated with any university. The early years saw the law school located at the old Central High School downtown and later in an office building, while its library was housed at the Tulsa County Courthouse.

The 1950s and 1960s saw significant progress for the college, including being accredited by the American Bar Association in 1953 and admitted to membership in the Association of American Law Schools in 1966. In 1943, pioneer Tulsa attorney and trustee of The University of Tulsa, John Rogers, established an affiliation between the law school and the university.
