Education Requirements

Application Process

To apply to law school, you must complete the Application for Admission and register with the Law School Admission Council. In the application, you will need to provide your profile statement, which includes all your contact information and a response to several questions. Be sure to keep us updated on any changes to your contact information during the application process.

LSAT and CAS

You must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and register with the Credential Assembly Service (CAS). To meet the official transcripts requirement, they will accept official transcripts sent to LSAC. Suppose transcripts are sent to LSAC before a degree has been conferred. In that case, they will require a final official transcript with degree conferral to be sent directly to them from the educational institution before October 15.

Character & Fitness

To become a bar member in any U.S. jurisdiction, you must pass a bar examination and meet specific character and fitness qualifications. You can learn more about the specific requirements for each jurisdiction by contacting the National Conference of Bar Examiners. This organization conducts character investigations on all bar applicants and requires detailed information and supporting documents. Ensure you allow enough time to gather all the required materials before submitting your application.

International Students Deadline

For international students applying for a student visa, the School of Law must receive all application materials by April 1 of the expected enrollment year.

Scholarships

The School of Law offers a variety of scholarships to accepted students, which can be used to cover tuition costs. To qualify for a scholarship, you must meet specific criteria and accept the offer of admission. If you are offered a scholarship, you must also accept any institutional and private grants you are eligible for. Scholarships cannot exceed tuition costs, so the scholarship will be reduced if there is an excess.

Loans

If you are interested in receiving federal financial aid, you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 15 each year. This will help make sure you have access to the best financial aid opportunities available. If your FAFSA is selected for verification, contact the law school’s Coordinator of Financial Aid. You may be eligible to borrow up to $20,500 per academic year in unsubsidized loans. A new FAFSA must be submitted for every academic year. First-time borrowers at Liberty University School of Law must complete Entrance Counseling and an electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Direct Unsubsidized Loan at https://studentloans.gov

Federal Grad PLUS Loan

The three courtrooms include two mock trial courtrooms, Liberty and Justice, equipped with cameras and monitors to allow students to observe proceedings from all angles. Their 330-seat appellate courtroom aptly named the Supreme Courtroom, contains the only known replica of the U.S. Supreme Court bench, down to the angles and measurements. All 1L students are required to participate in a moot court tournament and engage in oral argument. The practical skills classroom is surrounded by small rooms where instructors can view and hear client interviews, negotiations, and depositions unseen by students. Simulations can also be recorded for later review.

Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre

Snowflex provides opportunities for year-round mountain activities, such as tubing and skiing, for Liberty University students, faculty, staff, and the general public. The Barrick-Falwell Lodge is a scenic centerpiece of the Snowflex Centre, which gives the area an alpine resort feel. The view from Snowflex is also one of the most beautiful, so even if you're not a snow sports fan, you will definitely enjoy it there!

LaHaye Ice Center

The LaHaye Ice Center serves Liberty University students and the Lynchburg area. Drs generously donated it. Tim and Beverly LaHaye in 2006. The LaHaye's were longtime Liberty University supporters and donated to the LaHaye Student Union. The Ice Center is used by students and the community for skating, hockey, and other events.

Law Library

The Liberty University School of Law Library is designed to support the law faculty, students, and the local legal community. It has an extensive collection of print, electronic, and other media that students can use for research and study. The library also has access to Westlaw through WestSearch Plus, which is available for community members in the law reading room.
