I got in off the waitlist last year in May, and I ended up getting a really good $$ offer as well. I think the applicants may be stronger this year, but don't lose all hope.

Withdrew from some of my waitlists yesterday, but I'm ready to ride this one out.

I have deposited at another school but I am really hoping to get in to Michigan off of the wait-list.

I'm visiting two other schools I've been accepted at this week, but am still really pulling for Michigan. We will see!

Just waitlisted today! I submitted the application pretty late after getting repeated emails from the dean of admissions. I always loved the idea of the school but didn't think I had a great chance. I have already deposited at a different school but I'm going to ride this waitlist to see what happens.

Just curious, does Michigan have a strong presence in the international scene? Or do you like Michigan for other reasons?

I'm English and honestly it has a reputation of something of an Ivy in terms of law school.

Oh interesting. I wonder if it's because of the T14 factor, I can't imagine there are many Michigan transplants/alumni in the UK. Anyways, gl to you and hope to see you in AA in the Fall :D

Yes, Michigan law has a strong reputation in Asia. My former boss is a Michigan law alumnus.

From the Waitlist FAQ:
Our first deposit deadline of April 30 has now passed. We are currently processing the deposits we've received and determining the extent of our immediate waitlist needs, but we anticipate making up to 5 offers for summer, and 10 offers for fall. Orientation for summer will begin on May 31 (the Tuesday after Memorial Day); if you are interested in being considered for summer, please reach out and let us know! We will contact everyone we're considering for admission by telephone, unless an applicant has provided other instructions. If we make an offer, candidates will have two weeks to consider before making a commitment.
Got a call this morning!!! Now the second wait begins...

It was actually a call gauging interest...my bad. I meant now I have to wait to see if they call and actually make an offer. Does anyone know how long it generally takes before they call back to let us know if yes or no?

Do you mind sharing how frequently you contacted them with updates after being WLed, if at all? Wondering if they call everyone or just those who didn't submit LOCI/additional LORs...

From what I've gathered they only call people who they are seriously considering for a seat. ( I could totally be wrong tho)

Good luck I hope you get that second call soon!

I wrote a LOCI about 2 weeks after I was WLed (which was March 8th). Waited about 4 weeks, sent another LOCI. I also submitted another LOR. Went and visited last week and spoke with an admissions officer. I've continued to say that Mich was my first choice and if offered admission I'd absolutely go. Seems to be working in my favor...knock on wood.
