« TLS Articles - TLS Programs - TLS Stats Best Entertainment Law Schools and Sports Law SchoolsNational law school rankings do not focus much upon the best entertainment law schools or sports law schools. While our 2005 law school rankings provide an overall picture, this article specifically examines which are the top law schools amongst entertainment law schools and sports law schools. Please note that there is little information ranking entertainment law schools and sports law schools, so the following information should be verified more so than other national law school rankings presented on Top-Law-Schools.com. Not surprisingly, the majority of the top entertainment law schools and sports law schools are in the entertainment capitals of the world, California and New York City. The two of best law schools in California for these specialties are in Los Angeles, UCLA and USC. National law school rankings always put these law schools in the top 25 law schools overall. However, these are top 10 law schools as both Entertainment law schools and sports law schools. USC generally offers approximately 12 classes on Sports or Entertainment related matters. USC also offers their exceptional alumni network to help students land jobs in these coveted fields, which are often all about connections. UCLA law school offers up to 16 classes focusing upon entertainment or sports law. UCLA law school is probably the favorite amongst all entertainment law schools or sports law schools for California residents, who only have to pay the low in-state tuition of $11,713.00 (Non-Residents: $22,835.50). Other California law schools that would be considered top 25 law schools amongst entertainment law schools and sports law schools would be: Stanford law school – a powerhouse in intellectual property (trademark, copyright and patent law), their excellence also translates to entertainment and sports law. Universally regarded as one of the nation’s best law schools, Stanford offers about 8 Intellectual property law classes focusing upon entertainment law (less sports law at Stanford). Stanford does have its own Entertainment and Sports Law Association. Loyola Law School – with its location in Los Angeles, it has several classes dedicated to entertainment and Sports law and its own Entertainment and Sports Society. Pepperdine University – this religious law school is perched in the Malibu hills and generally offers around 8 classes with entertainment/sport focus. California Western – one of the San Diego law schools which is ranked higher amongst entertainment law schools and sports law schools then in overall national law school rankings, which fail to put this school as a even in the top 100 law schools. California Western generally offers over 12 classes focusing upon sports or entertainment law. Thomas Jefferson – other of the San Diego law schools which is somewhat respectable amongst entertainment law schools but does very poor in overall law school ratings. About 10 classes in Entertainment law. On the other coast, several law schools in New York City have excellent entertainment law schools and sports law schools. Please read New York Law Schools Directory for detailed information about these schools. Note that most of the NY law schools focus more upon entertainment rather then sports law.
