Job Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research relevant to criminal cases.
- Review applications for writs of habeas corpus.
- Review petitions for discretionary review.
- Prepare for oral arguments presented before the court.
- Draft judicial opinions.
- Demonstrate a strong interest and aptitude in criminal and appellate law.
- Exhibit effective research and writing skills.
Education and Experience Information
- Open to all law students who will have completed their legal studies by the beginning of the clerkship.
- Licensed attorneys are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates with a demonstrated ability to research and write effectively are preferred.
- Strong preference for candidates with an interest in criminal and appellate law.
Salary Information
The annual salary for a law clerk is approximately $74,502.
