Law Students: Summer Associate Program at Morris Nichols
Morris Nichols is seeking highly qualified first- and second-year law students from top-tier law schools across the United States to join our summer class. Our 10-week summer associate program provides meaningful exposure to our firm, our lawyers, and our clients, as well as a realistic view of life in Wilmington and the surrounding areas for young professionals.
Recruiting Process for Law Students:
- Apply through our direct application in the early spring
- On-campus interviews during the summer
- Participation in various job fairs
- Opportunity to visit our office in Wilmington, Delaware
- Meet with partners, special counsel, and associates
- Gain a deeper understanding of our firm, areas of specialization, and culture
1L Position for Our 2025 Summer Program:
- Application opens on January 6, 2025
- Cover letter, resume, law school and undergraduate transcripts, and writing samples required
- Interviews conducted on a rolling basis
Flexibility and Substantive Work Experience:
- Opportunity to interact with lawyers from all practice groups
- Work on sophisticated matters assigned to our junior associates
- Attend client meetings, drafting sessions, closings, negotiations, depositions, and more
- Long-term assignments available in preferred area of practice
Training and Feedback:
- Formal and informal training, including seminars and workshops
- Informal lunch meetings with practice groups
- Meaningful and timely feedback for professional development
Social Events:
- Opportunities to explore Wilmington and surrounding areas
- Philadelphia professional sports game, canoe and dine event, concerts, crab feast, and more

Pro Bono and Community Service:
- Work on pro bono assignments
- Participate in local service projects, such as preparing meals at the Ronald McDonald House and serving lunch at the Emmanuel Dining Room
