The Law Firm of Alderman has been providing paid internships for law students in Hartford for over 30 years. We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate for a paid legal internship for the fall of 2024, with the potential to continue in 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for a law student to gain hands-on experience in a variety of practice areas.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Must be a current law student who has successfully completed their first year of law school
- 1Ls with at least 12 months of experience working as a paralegal with a strong understanding of legal research and writing are also eligible
- Strong academic record
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Previous experience in Commercial Litigation, Business Reorganizations, Business Law, or Arbitration is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research
- Draft memos of law
- Assist with discovery
- Work on projects related to our firm's primary practice areas: Business Reorganizations and Insolvency, Commercial and Complex Litigation, Business Law, and Real Estate & Finance
Schedule and Compensation:
- Start date of October 1, 2024
- Part-time position with 8-16 hours per week
