Job Title: Fall Legal Internship
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with legal research and writing tasks to support the Attorney General's office.
- Observe legal proceedings to gain insight into the legal process and courtroom procedures.
- Attend meetings relevant to the legal and administrative functions of the department.
- Participate in various activities within the department to understand the operations and responsibilities of the Attorney General's office.
- Interns are assigned to a specific bureau, which may include Criminal, Civil, Environmental, Consumer, Public Safety and Infrastructure, or Charitable, to focus their internship experience.
Education and Experience Information:
- The internship is designed for students currently enrolled in law school, offering them a practical experience to complement their academic studies.
- Interns should submit a résumé, writing sample, list of references, and cover letter indicating their areas of interest, preferred bureau, and availability.
Salary Information:
- The positions are unpaid; however, many students may be eligible to receive course credit or scholarships from their respective law schools.
Additional Information:
- Interns are expected to make a part-time commitment during the Fall or Spring semester.
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and prospective interns are subject to a background investigation.
- The selection process involves reviewing applications based on qualifications and interest, matched with the needs of the bureaus, and may include interviews conducted by the individual bureaus.
