- Assignments include drafting pleadings, appearing at hearings and depositions, leading interview calls, and researching legal issues
- Each law clerk is paired with an attorney mentor
- Eligibility for U.S. citizens who have completed two years of law school and will continue in legal studies in the fall semester following the clerkship

- Enforces consumer protection laws and trade regulation rules
- Conducts individual company and industry-wide investigations
- Handles administrative and federal court litigation
- Participates in rulemaking proceedings
- Provides consumer and business education
- Contributes to informing Congress and other government entities of the impact of proposed actions on consumers
- Offers substantive legal work to demonstrate writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
