The Summer Legal Internship at the #***# offers law students a comprehensive 10-week, full-time program running from May through August. Interns will gain practical experience by assisting with legal research and writing, observing legal proceedings, attending meetings, and engaging in various departmental activities. Each intern is assigned to a specific bureau, such as Criminal, Civil, Environmental, Consumer, Public Safety and Infrastructure, or Charitable, providing focused exposure to different legal disciplines.
This opportunity is designed for students currently enrolled in law school, offering them the chance to apply academic learning in a real-world legal environment. Despite being unpaid, the internship offers significant educational value, with many students able to receive course credit or scholarships through their law schools.
Application to the program requires submitting a résumé, writing sample, list of references, and a cover letter indicating areas of interest, preferred bureau, and availability. The selection process includes interviews conducted on a rolling basis until positions are filled, and all applicants will undergo a background investigation.
