The legal internship is an opportunity to work with the nation's leading nonprofit Latino civil rights organization, dedicated to protecting and promoting the civil rights of over 40 million Latinos in the United States. The organization focuses on areas such as education, employment, immigrants’ rights, political access, and public resources equity. Internships are available in multiple cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, San Antonio, Sacramento, and Washington DC.
The internship duration varies by term: Fall/Winter/Spring internships last for one semester or quarter with a commitment of 15 hours per week, while Summer internships last for 10 weeks with a commitment of 40 hours per week. The specific schedule may vary depending on fellowship or work-study guidelines.
Applications must be sent via email with a cover letter, résumé, and a writing sample of 3 to 5 pages. Each application must specify the location and term of the internship in the subject line. A separate application is required for each office location of interest. Incomplete applications will not be considered, and early applicants will receive first consideration due to the limited number of positions available.
The organization is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and more information about the internship and the application process can be found on their website.
