Job Responsibilities:
The Fall Legal Internship offers interns the opportunity to gain experience in tax law at one of the largest state tax agencies in the country. Interns will work alongside knowledgeable tax attorneys in a friendly and flexible environment. The program exposes interns to a variety of activities, including:
- Researching tax issues
- Drafting memoranda and briefs
- Attending administrative hearings
- Formulating policy
- Working on regulation projects
- Implementing new programs
Interns are assigned to a specific bureau based on both the needs of the Legal Division and the intern’s area of interest. They are generally supervised by an attorney within the assigned bureau and receive assignments from that bureau’s workload.
Education and Experience Information:
Internships are coordinated with the student's law school for academic credit. Interns' hours are flexible to accommodate the needs of both the Legal Division and the intern.
Internships are available only in Sacramento.
