Job Title: Summer Legal Internship
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with legal research and writing tasks.
- Observe legal proceedings to gain practical insights into the legal process.
- Attend meetings related to various legal matters and department activities.
- Participate in a variety of activities within the department.
- Interns will be assigned to a specific bureau within the office, such as Criminal, Civil, Environmental, Consumer, Public Safety and Infrastructure, or Charitable.
Education and Experience Information:
- The program is designed for students who are currently enrolled in law school.
- Applicants should have a strong interest in legal research and practice, as well as a desire to learn and contribute to the department.
Salary Information:
- Positions are unpaid.
- Many students may be eligible to receive course credit or scholarships from their respective law schools.
Additional Information:
- The Summer Legal Intern Program is a 10-week, full-time program running from May through August.
- Students interested in applying should submit a résumé, writing sample, list of references, and a cover letter stating areas of interest, preference of bureau, and availability.
- Applications should be sent via email to the Legal Intern Coordinator.
- Selection for interviews is conducted on a rolling basis until all available positions are filled.
- All applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
