Job Responsibilities
Tax Services Interns at the company are integral members of client service teams, contributing to both Private Client Services and the broader Commercial practice. Interns undertake responsibilities similar to those of an Associate and are engaged in various client service activities. Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting in researching tax laws, rules, and regulations, and analyzing their application to specific situations. This involves drafting memorandums to justify decisions or propose solutions.
- Participating in select phases of tax compliance engagements, which may include individual, estate, gift, and fiduciary tax returns.
- Collaborating as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience to help clients address complex business issues.
- Proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback from mentors and colleagues.
- Supporting select projects by demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative while working collaboratively as a team member.
- Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while maintaining professional skepticism.

Education and Experience Information
Candidates for the internship program should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or an advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD, or LLM. Eligible students should be in their third year of a four-year degree program or in the fourth year of a five-year degree program. Interns generally join the company during the winter/spring or summer prior to their anticipated graduation year.

Other requirements include:

- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong leadership, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Initiative to actively seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with various levels of client and company management.

Prior to beginning full-time employment, it is preferred that students will be eligible to sit for the primary credential exam relevant to their practice area, such as having 150 credit hours to be eligible for the CPA exam in certain states.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire, as the company will not consider candidates requiring employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
