Job Responsibilities:
The Fall 2025 LNS Legal Internship at the organization involves working alongside staff in the New York office on policy advocacy and research initiatives. Interns will engage in a variety of activities, including:

- Conducting legal research and writing for policy reports and other advocacy documents.
- Drafting communications to legislators.
- Assisting with writing comments to federal agencies.
- Attending coalition meetings.
- Drafting posts for the organization's blog.
- Participating in programmatic and strategic planning.

Interns are considered integral to all aspects of the organization's work, contributing to the advocacy efforts related to preserving constitutional values, particularly in the context of national security, immigration, and law enforcement policies.

Education and Experience Information:
This internship is exclusively open to current law students. The organization seeks candidates with:

- Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
- Initiative, imagination, and versatility.
- A passion for issues related to democracy, equal justice, national security, and civil liberties.

Salary Information:
The internship offers a pay rate of $20.00 per hour. Interns are expected to work approximately 10 - 15 hours per week. The duration of the internship is from September to December 2025.

Additional Information:
- The internship is in-person at the New York office.
- Interns must comply with the organization's COVID-19 vaccination policy or meet the legal guidelines for an exemption.
- The organization will adhere to the rules of the interns' respective schools regarding internships. If a school does not allow paid internships for certain reasons, the internship may not be paid.
