#***# (LASMTC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free legal services to individuals with low income. Our mission is to protect and defend the legal rights of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals in order to secure the basic necessities of life. With 8 offices serving 48 counties in Tennessee, LASMTC focuses on 5 main areas of law practice: Family/Immigration, Health & Benefits, Consumer/Tax, Housing/Home Retention, and Employment.

We are currently offering legal internship opportunities for law students enrolled in accredited programs. These internships are available during the spring, summer, and fall terms, and are designed to provide hands-on experience in our organization's daily operations. Our interns work alongside our attorneys and staff, bringing fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and genuine enthusiasm to our non-profit endeavors.

Paid internships are available to attract a diverse pool of talented and motivated law students who are committed to our organization's mission. We recognize that unpaid internships can further exacerbate racial and economic disparities and aim to provide equal opportunities for all students. Our paid internships require a minimum time commitment of 20 hours per week for 10 weeks during the summer and 10 hours per week for 8 weeks during the fall and spring terms.

Students interested in unpaid internships can also apply for experience and/or academic credit. These interns work as volunteers and do not receive any monetary compensation.

To be eligible for our legal internship program, students must be enrolled in an accredited law program and demonstrate a strong dedication to public interest law through relevant experience and coursework. Proficiency in using MS Office applications is required, and knowledge of foreign languages is considered a beneficial asset.

Interested students can apply by completing our internship application and submitting a cover letter, resume and/or university transcript, and three professional references. The deadline to apply for summer internships is in the spring, fall internships in the summer, and spring internships in the fall.

Join us at #***# and gain valuable experience while making a positive impact in the lives of those in need. Apply now and be a part of our mission to advance, defend, and enforce the legal rights of low-income and vulnerable individuals.
