Job Responsibilities:
Legal interns will work within the Advocacy and Litigation department, supporting the litigation team on a variety of voting rights and social justice issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing legal memoranda to aid in the development and active litigation processes.
- Attending meetings with organization leaders and co-counsel, providing necessary support and insights.
- Drafting blogs and other written materials to support the organization’s litigation and legal advocacy efforts.
- Potentially supporting the organization’s policy work, though the primary focus will remain on litigation and legal advocacy.
Education and Experience Information:
- For semester internships, candidates must be current 2L or 3L students at an accredited university.
- For summer internships, a rising 3L at an accredited university is preferred, though rising 2Ls will also be considered.
- Candidates must demonstrate strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills, along with initiative, imagination, and versatility.
- A passion for voting rights and social justice issues, as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, is essential.
Salary Information:
- Summer interns are compensated at a rate of $18.55 per hour for a 35-hour workweek.

- Internships are fully remote, allowing students from outside the Washington, DC area to apply.
- Internships qualify for academic credit through the student’s school where available.
