The Center was founded in 1992 and has since been working towards ensuring reproductive rights are recognized as fundamental human rights worldwide. With offices in New York City, Washington D.C., Nairobi, Bogota, and Geneva, the Center has a global reach and works with a diverse team of over 230 professionals. The Center's mission is to change law and policy to protect reproductive rights through litigation, legal policy, and advocacy work.

The LSIR team is seeking a Summer Legal Associate to join their team in Washington D.C. The ideal candidate is a current law student with a strong interest in reproductive rights issues and a commitment to human rights. The internship will provide valuable experience in legal research and writing, as well as the opportunity to use international human rights law to advance reproductive rights globally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal and policy research and analysis on international and regional human rights law, as well as comparative national-level law and policy
- Assist in the development of the Global Judicial Digest & Database, tracking emerging reproductive rights and human rights jurisprudence from around the world
- Collaborate on thought leadership initiatives to advance key reproductive rights issues globally
- Edit and fact-check reports, petitions, shadow letters, and other documents as needed

Qualifications:
- Completed at least one year of law school by June 2025
- Knowledgeable about international human rights law and/or comparative law and policy
- Demonstrated interest in women's rights/gender equality, social justice, health law, and/or reproductive rights
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills

Compensation:
- Summer legal associate is encouraged to seek external funding
- Stipend of up to $7,000 through a $20 hourly pay rate
- Center will make up the difference if external funding received is less than $7,000
