Job Responsibilities:
Interns will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks and gain hands-on experience in a governmental office setting. Responsibilities for the internship include:
- Conducting research for constituents to assist with their inquiries and issues.
- Assisting with the organization and execution of Congressional events.
- Managing phone communication, including answering and directing calls.
- Writing letters and handling other general office duties as needed.
- Observing the day-to-day delivery of services to constituents and participating in field activities essential to Congressional work.
Education and Experience Information:
The internship is open to current undergraduate or graduate students who are looking to gain work experience in a Congressional office. While Spanish language skills are considered helpful, they are not a requirement for the position. Applicants should possess a mature, professional manner and be well-organized, efficient, and self-motivated.
Salary Information:
For their work, interns may receive course credit or a stipend. The specific details regarding the stipend or course credit will depend on the arrangement with the educational institution or the organization's policies.
Additional Information:
The internship is available at the Washington, DC and New York offices of the organization. The internship runs throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters, offering flexible hours to accommodate students' academic schedules.
