Are you a law student looking for hands-on experience in a non-profit organization? Look no further than #***#! We are a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing free legal services to low-income and vulnerable individuals. Our mission is to defend and enforce the legal rights of those in need, in order to secure the basic necessities of life.

With 8 offices serving 48 counties in Tennessee, #***# focuses on 5 main areas of law practice: Family/Immigration, Health & Benefits, Consumer/Tax, Housing/Home Retention, and Employment. We are currently offering legal internship opportunities during the spring, summer, and fall terms for students enrolled in accredited law schools.

Our internships are designed to provide valuable and hands-on experiences in our daily operations, working alongside our attorneys and staff. We welcome fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and genuine enthusiasm for non-profit endeavors. Students interested in a summer internship must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week for at least 10 weeks, while students interested in fall and spring internships must commit a minimum of 10 hours per week for at least 8 weeks.

We understand the potential inequities of unpaid internships and strive to promote diversity and inclusion within our organization. As such, we offer both paid and unpaid internships for law students interested in pursuing a career in public interest law. Our paid internships are designed to attract a diverse pool of talented and motivated individuals who share our commitment to our mission.

To apply for an internship, students must be enrolled in an accredited law program and have a demonstrated dedication to public interest law through relevant experience and coursework. Proficiency in MS Office applications is required, and knowledge of foreign languages is considered an asset. Interested students should complete our internship application and submit a cover letter, resume or university transcript, and three professional references with email and phone numbers. In the cover letter, please indicate the office and semester for which you are applying. Multiple office applications can be submitted in one application.
