Department: Solicitor General

The Office of the Solicitor General is responsible for handling the State's most significant federal and state appellate litigation. This includes appearing in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Nebraska Supreme Court. The department also advises the Attorney General on legal and strategic issues, and assists in providing opinions on questions of law. Additionally, the Solicitor General advises the Attorney General on invitations to participate in multi-state litigation and join amicus briefs.
