If accepted, how likely are you to attend?

Are you kidding? It's my first choice. Consider my seat deposit sent.

It's high on my list but it's not THE school I'm waiting to hear back from.

It's high on my list, but I can probably be swayed by more money from another school.

Meh... I applied because it's a T14 - we'll see how my cycle goes.

Really just plan on using it for scholarship negotiation purposes.

Still feel really unsure. I'll probably visit or go to ASW to get a better feel for the school/location.

Unfortunately there is only a very small chance of being able to attend with that amount so I emailed them and explained my financial situation (which is not pretty). They replied that they do not negotiate over merit aid once awarded even though they understand my situation. It was actually a very long email and almost certainly not prewritten because there were mistakes in it so I'm glad they took the time to write it. If you look at their website, it actually says they ONLY compete if there was NO merit or need based offer. Lawyered.

It's sad but it does not look like they do compete. My UMich ambitions have been blown into shreds.
Do you have a scholarship offer that's more than 75k in the T14? You can't negotiate without some sort of leverage
Yup. Have a much higher one from Cornell. Sure lower ranked school but do have leverage. It's not about the leverage though, from what they emailed me, they won't change scholarship decision once made. The email said it's because their faculty decided to prohibit it as a policy.
I don't really get the no negotiation policy- unfortunate if that is the case, I guess we'll see...now I gotta figure out how to politely ask for more even though they already gave me 40k a year...I really like Mich but for me it all comes down to a cold $$$/jobs calculation.

I applied 1/15, complete 1/26, and definitely email haha I'm not status checking at 3:29 AM.

Edit: complete 1/26, Michigan doesn't do UR.

Cool cool! Hahah yeah I figured, didn't know if the decision in the status checker would be timestamped or anything. Thanks for the data!

In via status checker! First acceptance of the cycle, so I feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

Thanks!! No word on scholarships yet, but they seem to be fairly generous. I submitted 12/27, went UR 1/9. My lsn profile is 'Sysyphus' if you want to check out stats.

In two days, it'll mark four months of waiting :( I sent in a LOCI and new LOR after the email about not having a decision yet, and have already gotten into two t14s and waitlisted at one. URM/Median/Median. Michigan was one of my top choices and I have a feeling the long wait = ding/waitlist...

In! Really excited as Michigan is high on my list of schools. Also sort of freaking out as the email came at a weird time of the day, and at first couldn't believe it was real...

No mention of any merit aid in acceptance email/packet. Does that mean I'm not getting anything? Reverse splitter.

No. They try to get back to you with FinAid within a week or two.

FYI: Whoever goes to the admitted students weekend the first week of April will be sitting in/observing my ConLaw class on 4/7. Primus is really great *and* it'll be in the afternoon unlike our normal 8:55am time!

Tomorrow marks two weeks post Darrow interview. The anticipation is killing me. Really hoping I hear SOMETHING tomorrow.

Dinged. >25 GPA, <50 LSAT

It was a long shot, but stings anyway. First ding of my cycle.

Good luck!! But don't worry if you don't--they were past the two week mark for me (I interviewed 1/23 but didn't hear until the evening 2/8) torture

I applied ED specifically to get my Michigan denial out of the way early and here I sit, having applied on November 3, and I still have not heard back.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
