Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I've been UR1 since 10/25 with 25<GPA<50 and 75<LSAT, and after looking over my application, I realized in a section where I wrote about NYU's public interest fame I wrote "New York University Law School" instead of "New York University School of Law."
Did I sign my ding warrant? I keep going back in forth in my head saying it's such a small difference that they won't care but on the other hand NYU is so competitive that any application should be flawless so any mistake is reason enough to get tossed out...

All I can say is that if I was on the committee, I wouldn't ding you because of this.heythatsme wrote:I've been UR1 since 10/25 with 25<GPA<50 and 75<LSAT, and after looking over my application, I realized in a section where I wrote about NYU's public interest fame I wrote "New York University Law School" instead of "New York University School of Law."

It's way more comforting to hear you two say this than to keep saying it to myself so thank you bothproteinshake wrote:there's no way they care about this.hellohalo wrote:All I can say is that if I was on the committee, I wouldn't ding you because of this.heythatsme wrote:I've been UR1 since 10/25 with 25<GPA<50 and 75<LSAT, and after looking over my application, I realized in a section where I wrote about NYU's public interest fame I wrote "New York University Law School" instead of "New York University School of Law."

Do we assume that the wave was today, then? And that the next wave will be in 2017?

If it makes you feel any better, I submitted half of my apps with an "of" instead of an "off" before I caught it.hellohalo wrote:All I can say is that if I was on the committee, I wouldn't ding you because of this.heythatsme wrote:I've been UR1 since 10/25 with 25<GPA<50 and 75<LSAT, and after looking over my application, I realized in a section where I wrote about NYU's public interest fame I wrote "New York University Law School" instead of "New York University School of Law."

This is why I haven't looked at my apps since I submitted them. If there's a typo, I don't want to know about it. It's too late now.heythatsme wrote:I've been UR1 since 10/25 with 25<GPA<50 and 75<LSAT, and after looking over my application, I realized in a section where I wrote about NYU's public interest fame I wrote "New York University Law School" instead of "New York University School of Law."

gonna add to the "if it makes you feel better" train: I used an unnecessary comma to connect a dependent clause in 6/14 of my applicationsheythatsme wrote:I've been UR1 since 10/25 with 25<GPA<50 and 75<LSAT, and after looking over my application, I realized in a section where I wrote about NYU's public interest fame I wrote "New York University Law School" instead of "New York University School of Law."

Completely left out a word in my personal statement that definitely would trip up readers, and only had good news so far (although at lower T14 schools than NYU so far). Still, I don't think you should worry. NYU Law School seems like an acceptable way to refer to the school, even if it's not the proper name. You didn't make one of those "you're doomed" type of mistakes where you list the wrong school name or city name or a program that isn't even part of the school.heythatsme wrote:I've been UR1 since 10/25 with 25<GPA<50 and 75<LSAT, and after looking over my application, I realized in a section where I wrote about NYU's public interest fame I wrote "New York University Law School" instead of "New York University School of Law."

That seems to vary depending on your stats (which makes sense). I've been UR for exactly a month but some people have gotten decisions faster than that; however, I have lower stats so I'd imagine that could lead to a longer review process for me.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
