May be also worth noting that this week is Boalt's spring break.

Well, I just had a heart attack over nothing- I wish Berkeley wouldn't send emails with the word "scholarship" in the subject line unless it's about actual scholarships.

Re: UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall) Law Class of 2019
Just thought I'd add in my two-cents regarding scholarships. I was rejected from BLOS a few weeks ago after never receiving any information related to the application process, so I'll share the blame for that. That being said, I did just receive an email from the outreach coordinator rejecting my matching scholarship request because Berkeley was going to be offering me more aid (with specific amounts in merit and need based aid) than the scholarship I wished them to match.
I'd say they probably have awards allocated and are finishing up on the notification process.

It can be confirmed because Berkeley rejected me, but offered me 105k in scholarships.
Harvard gave me ~120k (projected), so it's likely that I'll be withdrawing, making NYU (AnBryce finalist) and Harvard my top choices.

What is confirmed? And when did you hear about your Berkeley scholarship?Oskosh wrote:It can be confirmed because Berkeley rejected me, but offered me 105k in scholarships.

Rejected but offered a scholarship? Can you explain that?spacemonkey001122 wrote:What is confirmed? And when did you hear about your Berkeley scholarship?Oskosh wrote:It can be confirmed because Berkeley rejected me, but offered me 105k in scholarships.

Re: UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall) Law Class of 2019
Sorry, I just wrote that post in a stream-of-consciousness voice, which led to some confusion. I meant to say that I can confirm that BLOS award information started going out, because I was rejected for the BLOS (participated in the interview panel). They weren't able to offer me full tuition, but they did offer me 105k in aid (need based and merit based). However, since I have approximately 120k from H, I will probably withdraw...bamb00zled wrote:Rejected but offered a scholarship? Can you explain that?spacemonkey001122 wrote:What is confirmed? +1, that was my source as well - participated in BLOS and received notice I had not received it, received an alternate merit aid award.Oskosh wrote:Sorry, I just wrote that post in a stream-of-consciousness voice, which led to some confusion. Hope this means awards/aid/scholarship info is coming to the rest of us today! Could really use a boost for negotiating.

Wait, do we need to apply for BLOS separately? I just went over all emails from Berkeley Law and can confirm that I have never received any information related to application process. The information on their website is not helpful either... someone help me

Just checked my Berkely app and found that only first generation college students are eligible for BLOS... Well, guess I didn't miss much anyway. But thanks a lot for your answer!
