No need to worry. It's not like this phone call determines the course of the rest of your earthly life or anything...applelover wrote:It is frustratingCitrusFruit wrote:Yeah, I am not sure about that either. New poll up. Not about Harvard. Because they clearly are playing hard to get.

I like this strategy...let's just try and pretend that H doesn't exist by not thinking about them. This poll's a good start. And I like "seriously explain what your deal is." I could use this in many situations other than just this context...wtrc wrote:New poll up. Not about Harvard. Because they clearly are playing hard to get.

Why would a 19 year old apply for law school? Such a waste in so many ways.NapoleonXV wrote:I am 19. Shall I take a year off

Don't know what you want to do afterwards, but I feel that working at a law firm when you're 22 or 23 will be very disillusioning

Yes! Work for a year or two. If you can swing it with time and money, travel the country/world for a few days or weeks or months. No rush... I am so happy I decided to take time off.NapoleonXV wrote:I am 19. Shall I take a year off

This is actually very, very true. Almost non-school related socializing at HLS happens around alcohol.ShrimpToastMasters wrote:Take at least 2 so that you can legally drink is LS. You'll need it.NapoleonXV wrote:I am 19. Shall I take a year off
Also, get some experience in the real world.

This is such a mind game. Every time our expectations are not met, the same logic we used to predict the first date leads us to expect that next day will have an even greater chance of JS2s.

To be fair, everything that happens when you're 22 and 23 is disillusioning.

It really depends on what you want to do. If you're planning on spending your career as a successful attorney, and you just happen to be young, then I'd probably say "Yes, you should take a year off." If, on the other hand, you plan to follow in the footsteps of some of the better-known alumni from HLS and eventually have biographies written about you, then there's no need to wait. You'll probably want to have a little law-firm experience before you become a member of parliament or whatever they have where you're from, but you're better off having that experience after you get your JD.NapoleonXV wrote:I am 19. So, basically, if you plan on changing the world, then GO. Do it. Don't wait. The earlier you start, the more difference you can make.

There doesn't seem to be any JS1 slots for this Friday and next Monday.. does that say anything about when JS2's are happening?

My theory (aka wishful thinking) is that schools are not getting the quality of applicants they expect/want, and are holding out (in vain) for more quality applicants to submit before they accept people with lower-than-normal numbers.applelover wrote:I thought I would wake up to someone with a JS2. In other words, if you plan on being one of the people in the third paragraph of this Wikepedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvard_Law_School then I don't think you need to take two years off so you can drink at law school social functions.t-14orbust wrote: um wat
