No debt is huge. You won't be a slave to paying it back. Especially if you don't know if you want to be a lawyer. With the freedom of no debt you can mill around until you find out exactly what you want to do.

CNN at sticker is enticing but based on the limited info you supplied, no debt rules.

Have you thought about asking for money from CNN?

How do people in your position at your current school usually do at OCI? If historically they normally get 20 screeners but only because the firms are trying to feign an interest in the school and not because they actually call back and higher those students, then I would head for CCN. If people with your class rank basically always convert those screeners to offers I would stay put.

CCN will increase your chances at a V10, perhaps dramatically, but I don't know that the career benefits of V10 vs V30 or 50 or w/e is 100k assuming the V50 pays market.

20 interviews is a lot, but try to get a sense of how many people get callbacks/offers from these interviews at your school. I think a lot of firms have # goals for each school they go to (IE we'll bring back 30 people from Columbia, but only 5 from Cardozo).

Don't worry at all about landing a V10 vs a V50 or V100 or whatever. Just try to find a firm that does the stuff you want to do.

PLEASE VOTE / COMMENT IF POSSIBLE:

1 - Currently at a TT on a no-stip full ride for all three years. Probably around top 3-6 percent of class (not totally sure).

2 - Have already bid on OCI and have about 20 screening interviews with V100-ish firms (several in V20, a few in V5).

3 - Just got into CCN-- will cost $100,000 more at minimum. Spoke to OCS at CCN and they told me transfers get about 20 interviews through OCI.

Stay or transfer? Please provide rationale if it's at all possible. Thanks. I don't want a life in biglaw but I want to live comfortably. Not so sure I want to be an attorney forever, either.

Stay put. CCN is great, but you are looking WAY more debt and you are not sure you want biglaw that badly or if you want to be in law forever.. your current school seems able to get you to to your goals / jobs and not force you to make bad life choices due to debt.

Columbia degree lasts a life time - 100k can be paid in a few years doing BigLaw.

I assume OP is talking about N. I think N is worth it. More so than C from a Law Degree standpoint. Granted im biased at N.
