Yeah, I was in the day after Valentine's Day. Sent them my GW offer, hopefully they're willing to toss some stuff my way. Still haven't received my general finaid package though, I can only assume they've been swamped with that and will get back soon on that, still holding out hope.

Anyone going to be there for Preview Day Friday? I saw someone else made a thread but no one's really posted in it.

Got my need award in the mail yesterday. The additional 15k on top of a merit award I was already quite happy with is making BU a very real possibility for me. Who else is leaning toward BU?

Nice! I'm really upset that I won't be able to make it Friday, but I'm going to try to get up there for a tour soon. Let me know how it goes!

I love BU, but their money isn't competitive with other schools at this point. I'm probably going to withdraw unless my appeal gives me more money.

To those who have received a merit scholarship:

How long after your acceptance did you have to wait until you received notification that you would be receiving a merit scholarship?

75k Alumni Scholarship. Does this mean I won't get need based aid? 15k more would make BU my top choice as of now.

BU sends out stuff at really random intervals. Mine came with my admissions packet. Some people's come much, much later.

I emailed them a while ago with this same question and the answer is no: you should still be considered for need-based aid provided you submitted all the required paperwork.

BU Scholarship Page

Alumni should be need-based aid. Dean's Scholar is probably full-tuition or close for a select few with ridiculously high numbers. Merit scholarships are called just that.
