Not sure why but I don't think I ever received a status checker from william and mary. I received an application received email on 11/1 and a completion e-mail on 11/8, neither of which said anything about a status checker. I've searched my inbox and spam folder and I don't have any other emails from them. Anyone know why I wouldn't have a status checker by now?

Hmm I received my status checker the same day as that first email (11/8). Here's what it looked like.

So pretty much like any of the other status checker emails out there. If you haven't gotten this but your application is complete, I would recommend calling. HTH.

Edit: Received the package in the mail today. I've been offered a $10,000 scholarship, renewed annually dependent on maintaining a "C" average. I'm also in-state, so this definitely helps if I decide to attend.

My numbers aren't overly impressive. Average LSAT (164), great GPA (3.84); however, I have 3 years WE in D.C.

almost identical without the WE although i did have a lot of WE while in school, and i got in. i would bet you're in.

In via status checker. 170/3.4x. 3-4 years WE. Haven't gotten the package yet, so I don't know about $. Even though W&M isn't my top choice, this is my first acceptance so it's nice, although slightly overshadowed by a GULC interview request yesterday.

TLS calls W&M one of the most selective schools in the country. I suppose this is not necessarily synonomous with highest standards, but I believe the answer to the above question would be no.

Hey all! Congrats! I'm a current 1L! Let me know if you have any questions. As for employment prospects, I've talked to a few people who have worked in Cali and there a couple of graduates from last year who got jobs on the West Coast. Obviously, W&M places better in this area, especially DC, but there are graduates who went all over last year! Most people want to work in DC and I think W&M puts you in a great position to do that. I can't speak to w&l's employment but they are both great schools.

I am SO excited to be in at W&M. Certainly one of my top choices, but I do have a couple questions:
Can you talk about life in Williamsburg?
I am married and my wife wants us to go to Chicago or D.C. Any chance she will be bored?
Also-what did you think about the week of "legal skills" (I think that's what they call it) before school started?

Hey! Congrats all! About Williamsburg, I love it. However, if your wife is looking for a city feel, that's definitely not what you're going to get here. It's very cute and quaint and there is everything you could need here but its very small. However, Richmond and Virginia Beach are only 45 min to an hour away and DC (without traffic) is only 2 1/2 hours.

Also, there are quite a few married couples in my class. They seem to love it here and W&M offers a lot of other master degree programs that some spouses are in. Spouses are also invited to all events that the law school hosts, and often, they come to eat lunch with their husbands/wives.

As for legal skills week, I'm not sure what the new 1L class is going to experience because they are updating the program so it will be different than what I went to. I liked legal skills week because it gave me an opportunity to meet my classmates but I don't know how useful it was. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions!

Yep, means you are a resident. I had the same thing for both w&m and UVA
