Re: OCI - Bid List Help
Big caveat: CLS anon here so I can't speak to NYU directly (but the two should be comparable?)
Based on CLS bidding data, your Cravath bid would be dangerously low (same for S&C, but to a lesser extent). I get that those are potential "reach" firms for anyone outside of top ~15%, but if you feel passionately about them, maybe bump higher? In the same vein, your Cleary bid looks perilously low — and I would've thought that Cleary would a prime option for you given its international flavor.
At least at CLS, getting a Quinn screener is not that competitive — because of its heavy lit focus, a big chunk of corp-leaning people here choose not to bid them at all. So ranking them #2 seems overly aggressive.
And since you must have extra bids left over, why not throw in a few more "safeties" just for downside protection?

Re: OCI - Bid List Help
Thank you. The Cravath bid was based in large part on the fact that it cleared at at least 29 in 2018 and 20 in 2019. But the interviewing slots have shrunk considerably and, you're right, I don't want to take a risk. I've switched Cravath and Davis Polk. (S&C cleared at at least 16 and 17, respectively, with less interviewing slots than this year.) Cleary has a full 176 interviewing slots and cleared at at least 24 in 2018, so I was feeling decently safe with that one. Slightly wary of switching around bids that would interfere with more popular Lantham/Kirkland/etc firms for reach firms, considering there's a solid chance I'll be walking into OCI with a 3.50.
I'll think about switching around Quinn. (Maybe O'Melveny should be higher up?)
We have 50 bids in total and I do plan to use up all of them, so there will be a lot of safeties added (but your odds of getting an interview after ~#20 seem to drop considerably).
Thanks again for your help.
