Definitely. There's a huge difference between this year and last (based on TLS alone). Disappointing because I thought there would be a steady stream through July.hopefulforthebest wrote:Based on LSN and this thread in comparison to years past, does anyone else feel that Vandy hasn't admitted many applicants from the WL this cycle, given that we're in July now?
Does anyone believe that more people will be admitted in the coming days or week(s)?

In off the WL with 20k/y.... I have already signed a lease in Ithaca, so Vandy isn't going to happen. Wish they would have let me know sooner though..

I hope you're a nice enough person to let them know you won't be coming. And if you haven't yet it's not too late!T00L wrote:In off the WL with 20k/y.... I have already signed a lease in Ithaca, so Vandy isn't going to happen. Wish they would have let me know sooner though..

Ithaca's gonna be more fun than Nashville anyway.T00L wrote:In off the WL with 20k/y.... I have already signed a lease in Ithaca, so Vandy isn't going to happen. Wish they would have let me know sooner though..

All current Class of 2015 students have to confirm our intent to enroll by July 21. If there is going to be any WL movement, I'd guess it will be after that.

Re: Vanderbilt Waitlist (2012 Applicants)
Is this a binding commitment that we'll be making? As of now I'm set for Vandy but I'm waiting it out at another school that I'd prefer to attend. Surely this isn't some legally binding decision that we have to make? I've heard of people bailing for a different school as late as orientation week.Indebted wrote:All current Class of 2015 students have to confirm our intent to enroll by July 21. Pledge, I'm almost certain it isn't binding. They just need to get a better head count (usually achieved through a second seat deposit).

Hey guys, spoke with the admissions office. They said there's no 2nd seat deposit. They also said there's been a lot of movement on the class roster of late citing law school apps down for the 2nd year in a row. So good luck to us!

Fingers crossed! First day of class is swiftly approaching so hopefully we'll see some movement for some of us!

Me too. It's almost time for Orientation. Our chances seem to dwindle as the days lead up to orientation.westcoast wrote:Ok, now I've started to lose hope.

Does anybody have any idea about the current size of the WL?

Re: Vanderbilt Waitlist (2012 Applicants)
Looks like Vandy is playing with fire. I am wondering if they are going to wait until a few days before they begin to make sure their currently enrolled deposited students stay put and then slide a few people in once they know that their stats wont change? I mean this would make me think that we won't be seeing much in the way of movement this week.

Because the rankings consider the grade-point averages and scores on the Law School Admissions Test, schools are pulling out the stops to make sure the highest-caliber students are applying and matriculating.
For instance, some highly regarded law schools, including those at Northwestern University, Georgetown University, Cornell University, UCLA, Vanderbilt University and the University of Minnesota, are currently still allowing promising students to send in applications for the school year starting in August or September, even though the official deadlines passed months ago.

Interesting. Still, I wonder if the WL size is more operable at this late date, and is smaller, more manageable? Also, I wonder whether once someone is waitlisted, numbers (while still a factor) are less pivotal, in so far as students are campaigning now for those open spots--i.e. which ones have more work experience, add some intangible(s) recent college grads do not--more than numbers? Regardless, Nashville, seems fun, but if I can trade up to a T14, then I most likely will. Bigger markets.

Has Vandy shrunk its WL? Have they rejected people periodically throughout the summer?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
