Colorado Accepted/Wait list anyone?

Post by j'aimeetudier » Tue Jun 02, 2009 7:55 pm

Has anyone heard any news on the U of Colorado Boulder wait list or has anyone been on the wait list and accepted yet? Couldn't find anywhere the date of the second seat deposit so please post if you know!

I was waitlisted in January and have not heard anything as of yet. I believe they just finished sending out first round decisions, so I would think in the next week or two people will start getting in from the WL. Anyone know more?

Is there a 2nd seat deposit? I believe there is just the one $200 deposit

I think there is just one $200 deposit as well, and that was April 1st. But then there are the people who were accepted in April/May who still have deposits rolling in. I think next week we will begin hearing about WL admits for CU. Are you all on the WL too? anyone know how large the list is, or how many they plan to admit?

When I visited about the third week of May the wait list was 450. (Yes, I am one of those many!) Yikes- I know. However I was also told it is usually cut in half (for all kinds of reasons- people accepting other schools, narrowing down how many wait lists they are on etc.) by the first of July.

I figured it might be helpful to know if there is a second deposit but maybe only having one will mean people just trickle on and off throughout the summer instead of centered around one date.
Anybody heard anything else??

Does anyone here know about apartment rental costs? Boulder is expensive but I hear the outlying suburbs are pretty affordable.

Boulder 1br is probably 800+
Neighboring cities like Broomfield, Louisville, etc. is more like 600+.

I've heard that you can take a bus from Denver to Boulder that only takes about 30-45 minutes. You should be able to find something livable in Denver for 550-650.

You are kidding, right? I went to school in Oxford MS and you can barely find a 1 BR apartment there for less than 600. Check out the rents in CA if you want to see really expensive

The "gunbarrel" area of Boulder is only 7 minutes driving from campus and 20 minutes on the bus and it is super affordable compared to Boulder. Granted, you probably won't find anything under $500 but it is a lot cheaper than the places within walking distance to the law school.

If you just got accepted off the wait list would you mind at all sharing your GPA/LSAT? Personal info, I know! :)

Did you guys do anything special while on the waitlist for CU? Like send a LOCI or anything like that?

I'm in today via email. 3.3/163, in-state. Kinda shocked actually. Definitely have some serious thinking to do. Wow. Good luck to everyone else still waiting, clearly there is some movement happening...

For those of you that have gotten accepted from the waitlist, did they give you a date to reply by? Just curious if there will be another round of acceptances coming. Thanks!

We have to tell them tomorrow. I have decided not to attend, so PM me your name and I'll the dean of admissions that i have been talking to you and feel that you'd be a valuable addition to the school.

??

You think they will let you have a say in who gets your seat? In that case I will sell my CU seat to the highest bidder. Bidding starts at 500k :D

Thanks, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they send out another round of acceptances from the waitlist in the next 2 weeks. I wish all it took was you talking to the Dean of Admissions. :D

Thanks a lot to all the people who have posted about the wait list. When I started this thread I wanted to see if anyone was in the same boat and it sounds like quite a few are! Also, congrats to those making it in!
