Chances at Georgetown PT?
Sorry, I know chances questions can usually be referred to lawschoolnumbers or something similar but I'm not sure how part-time works and I can't find any new numbers on the new class. Here are my stats:
3.73 Ivy (non-HYP)
163 LSAT
4 year varsity athlete
good internships
officer positions in organizations
non URM
I had been practicing at 168+ and plan to retake in December but I would like to apply ED. Do I have any chance at getting into the part-time program or should I just wait until Jan. to send in my app??
Thanks in advance for your help!

I'd say wait. The 163 is way too low. You'd have a shot at G Dubbs perhaps.

Good chance. 158-166 is their 25-75 from what I've read.

rofl. Unless you're URM, you're not getting into GULC PT with sub 160.
There was 1 person with a 3.95/163 who got in who wasn't a URM (and I'm assuming it was a PT program).

I ran a search on LSN and it does in fact look more grim than I initially thought. Still there are a handful of acceptances with a 163. 163/3.96 163/3.8 and 163/3.4
However, there are also a lot of rejects and waitslists in that range, so I'd say you probably have closer to a 10-20% chance.

10-20? You realize that LSN is self-selecting right? Probably the only people who really do LSN are people really into this, and have put a lot of time into it. My point being, of the other applicants not on LSN in that score/gpa range, most of them are going to have less impressive softs. Basically, there were 3 out of a TON of people in a score range, on a self-selecting website, who got in. That right there isn't 10-20 percent, not even close. Add in all the people NOT on LSN in that range, who are likely not as competitive based on softs, and the percentage gets smaller.coelomate wrote:I ran a search on LSN and it does in fact look more grim than I initially thought. Moral of story - LSAT is king. Get your LSAT up and you have a good shot. 163 at GTown PT isn't going to cut it.

Considering it looks like you have zero work experience, not very good. They do make exceptions for low LSATs, but usually you have to have some sort of work experience to overcome it with a PT program.

Hi guys! I am currently at the part-time program at Georgetown Law. I came in with no prior work experience, a 3.9 GPA and a 162 LSAT from a strong state school. I was initially waitlisted. Don't give up hope! PM me if you have any questions.
P.S. I'm not a URM

25/75: 3.32/3.77 162/167
PT is still pretty selective. I wonder if they prefer students who only apply PT vs. students who apply to both PT and FT.

As I've heard, they do. They assume checking the 'both' box means that you really prefer FT(duh) and are more likely to get WL'd. So I've heard.I wonder if they prefer students who only apply PT vs. students who apply to both PT and FT.

I was waitlisted at Gtown PT 163/3.96 with great everything. I applied ED.
