My apologies if this post goes through twice-- I realized I forgot some key information. (I am new here so I am not sure how to go back to a post that hasn't been uploaded yet)
I am wondering how my chances look for the T-14 and specifically on HYS. I'm hoping to receive a good scholarship at one of the T-14 universities, and I'm wondering if my stats (4.08, 172, URM) may be able to get me there and if not what law schools outside of T-14 I should apply to. My personal statement is on my family surviving a racial terrorist attack, how this motivated me to address systemic inequality, what I've accomplished in pursuit of that goal, and why I want to go to law school. I am a KJD but I have a lot of extracurricular activities and awards from my school. Thank you all!

You will probably get in everywhere and get whatever scholarships you want. If you don't care about spending money and/or you come from a wealthy family, then to go to Yale. If you want a scholarship, then go to a T14 school in the geographic region where you hope to practice and accept whatever large scholarship they probably will give you.

Good advice -- but all else being equal, a named scholarship is better than an unnamed one. It signals that you likely got into HYS. That can help in some of more preftige-obsessed parts of the industry.

This has to be a joke. URM with those scores is going anywhere and everywhere.
Apply to the full T14 or at least the T10 depending on where you want to be. Wait for the offers to roll in and then leverage them to negotiate the best scholarship package. If Harvard wants to give you $20k, UVA better be willing to move to $40k. If UVA is now offering 40k, Harvard better at least move up to $25/$30k.
Should be fun.

Harvard doesn't give merit scholarships. Source: https://hls.harvard.edu/sfs/prospective ... -overview/.wahoowaa2017 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 2:34 pmThis has to be a joke. URM with those scores is going anywhere and everywhere.
