Best course of action for splitter?

Post by MrClean26 » Fri Oct 02, 2020 5:18 pm

I'm a URM splitter with 179 LSAT and a 3.5 GPA from a large state school + 3 years of work experience. I want to apply to the T14 school that minimizes my debt burden, which is why I'm considering EDing to Northwestern. Is this a rational course of action? Or do I have a realistic chance of scoring T14 scholarships around the $100-$120k range? I don't want to limit my options if I don't really have to.

ED Northwestern is a decent choice assuming generic biglaw goals, but I'm pretty sure you can do at least as well by blanketing the T13 with RD apps. 179/URM is the kind of statline that schools will break out the checkbook for.

It sounds like you're not in love with NU, so I wouldn't lock it in. Too much potential for regret.

Yeah, that makes sense. NU sounds awesome, but like I said- no need to limit my options.

I wouldn't ED anywhere. you're applying as a URM with a near-perfect LSAT score. you could get into H.
