Hi all,
I have a 168 LSAT and 3.74 GPA at a large state school. My top choice is UVA, largely because of the proximity to D.C. and what I gather is a more laid back culture. Career wise, I'd like to do D.C. big law and pursue public interest opportunities at some point down the road. I think my softs are above average. I've been out of school for a few years working for a startup then acquired by a big tech firm. I'm not an URM.
What are my chances at UVA? MyLSN does not paint a pretty picture, but looking for confirmation from a human. I'm wondering if the current environment puts downward pressure on medians this cycle, boosting my chances.
There's still time to squeeze in a retake in October. It would be my fourth take, but would that matter if I bump my score by a couple points? And would the lateness of the retake affect my chances? My PT average had been around 171 in July.
Thanks for the help.

Re: 168, 3.74 - Chances at UVA
You're solidly below both medians (2 LSAT points, .15 grade points) so it's not surprising that MyLSN says you're a long shot. Even if the overall cycle turns out to be easier (which there is no evidence for; the Internet rumor mill keeps swinging between thinking it will be easier and thinking it will be harder), UVA just recently got their LSAT median to 170 and I reckon they will fight tooth and nail to keep it that way.
An October retake isn't even that late; you could still have completed apps by Thanksgiving if you do that. If you want UVA you really want to get into the 170-171 zone (or better).

I had the same stats as a KJD and got waitlisted at UVA, but I'm also not from the South or DMV, not sure if that matters to them.baevans15 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2020 9:08 amHi all,

On the other hand, I did get a ~40% scholarship at Georgetown, which is where I ended up. If you want to be in DC, can't really go wrong there. Although I struck out on Big Law as a slightly below median 1L, I've been able to do some federal government internships and landed a 2L SA at a F100 company. PM if you want more details.
