Georgetown PT 3.77/166
Just applied for the PT program. I have v good/relevant work experience. Looking to stay in my industry but move into policy/litigation. I felt pretty good about my chances after looking at the ABA report, but anecdotal evidence shared in previous threads leave me feeling skeptical. Also, there's not much info out there on PT applicants, past and current. Any one else out there applying to GULC PT (or have in the past)?

I think there are two main problems with relying on ABA Standard 509 data: (1) you're really only looking at one year (2018); and (2) your numbers are both above median, but below 75%ile. You're also below median for full-time standards. It's hard to get a good read on the difference in selectivity between the part-time and full-time program other than this single form's data from a single year, but it looks to be less selective than usual. Good luck, and certainly post again when you find out either way.

Their 2019 ABA report is now available. The median/75th percentile spread is 165/167. The GPAs have gotten better for the PT group in general, and in particular vs the FT group at the 75th+ percentile. It's not an easy program to get into by any means, and I would be proud to be in that group.
Appears the numbers have gotten better this last cycle so admissions will be more competitive. I retook the LSAT in November and am hoping for a better score that I would letter to the school once received next week. With the extra month of studying my PTs were consistently above 170. I guess we'll see. Due to really great work opps, I just can't do a full time program, and being in DC would be perfect for my desire to shift to regulatory/policy. It would be the kind of thing where I could hit the ground running immediately with existing contacts and more built with the GULC experience.
