Chances for Rutgers, American (WCL), Miami Forum

Hi everyone! This is my first post in a forum like this. I am a recent graduate of a large public university.

I studied history/English lit. and earned a 3.65 GPA. Internship in state gov't during college, lots of softs and activities.
152 LSAT score from June 3, 2018.

I am essentially reverse splitting a few schools on my list. I'd like to know what my chances are at Rutgers, WCL, Miami. Rutgers is my number one choice as I like a large and diverse student body.

Any and all advice would be very much appreciated!

You need to retake the LSAT. With a 152 even if you get into any of these schools, you will be paying full sticker price and these three are only worth going to if you have a full ride or something close to it.

Where do you want to practice law after school? Rutgers only makes sense if you want to be in NJ, Miami only makes sense if you want to be in South Florida. American almost never makes any sense. Employment stats and location should be the most important factors in deciding what law school to go

I'm not part of the "retake or don't go" crowd, but the above poster is correct in that you need to retake in your situation. If I had to guess, you'd likely be in at Rutgers, waitlist-admit at Miami, and dinged at American. However, you're likely not going to get any scholarship money at any of these schools, and none of these schools are worth it at full sticker price (I say this as a graduate of one of these schools).

If you can keep your total debt (including tuition AND cost of living) to roughly $60K or less, it may be worth it. However, even this debt, which is relatively low by law school debt standards, may be hard to service on your likely salary coming out of one of these schools ($40-65K).

Those schools are all regional, and there is no sense whatsoever of going to Rutgers if you do not want to work in a specific part of New Jersey.
