Just wondering what everyone out there thinks of my prospects, based on my stats:
GPA: 3.9
LSAT: 167 in June, cancellation in September (didn't think I did better, maybe did worse)
Softs: average (extracurricular leadership, internship in DC)
Recs: slightly below average (not close with professors)
Looking at a big range of schools (best is Penn, lowest is SMU).
Thoughts?

I'd hit the schools in the 5-15 range and go wherever you get the best balance of money and job prospects.

Retake and get a 170+ and get a large scholarship to a t14 or at least a significant scholarship in the T6.

Bumping this in case anyone has any new insights based on this cycle.
I've applied to:
Duke (PT)
Boston University
UChicago
NYU
UPenn
Georgetown
USC
I intend to apply to:
GWU
Texas
SMU
Thanks in advance!

OP: totes' advice from September remains valid. You should apply to Chicago and every school from NYU through USC. If application fees are a real hardship, request waivers.totesTheGoat wrote:https://mylsn.info/k057nb/

I wouldn't bother applying to SMU - you are well in the T13/T20 range, and while SMU isn't a bad school, you'd be dramatically undermining your future job prospects by going there.

Re: Where am I going to law school?
Thought I'd come back with a mid-cycle update! I applied to the following schools (results thus far listed as well):
UChicago (interview invite)
NYU
Penn
Duke
Cornell
Georgetown
UT (accepted)
Vanderbilt
WashU (interview invite)
USC
Boston (accepted, full tuition)
Emory
GWU
Alabama (accepted, full tuition)
SMU
Got unsolicited fee waivers for all of them except Boston, weirdly enough. I went with the schools in the 5-25 range that I could really see myself attending, plus a couple safeties. Thanks for all the advice, everyone!
