A few possible explanations:
1. Your GPA range is too slim, giving you a bad sample size.
2. There is a different sample size for the year ranges you're comparing.
3. You're overthinking things when it comes to how "competitive" a given set of cycles was.
MyLSN isn't a perfect tool, so it's normal for the numbers to fluctuate a bit. I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a tool for comparing cycle years, because you're just not going to get great data, especially if the numbers didn't change drastically from year to year. Most importantly, I wouldn't recommend spending much time staring at the site and obsessing over your chances once apps are in. It's only useful as a barometer of whether you need to retake the LSAT for your goals, not as a constant source of stress as you wait for a reply from a given school.
