165, 4.0 What are my chances?
Reverse splitter and I'm planning to apply for this upcoming cycle. Relevant info: top 10 private univ, some softs (leadership in student groups, musical accolades), non-URM. No more retakes having already completed my 3. Looking closer to T4-T10? Any suggestions on ED boosts?

You should be okay at UVA, based purely on what I know from personal experience. But there's a nifty website that uses stats and graphs that will give you a clearer picture.

Retake, you'll regret it the rest of your life.

Also, I wouldn't be doing my civic duty if I didn't say "retake."
I realize you said "no more retakes" but does that mean "I'm out of retakes" or does it mean "I'm not going to retake bc I want to go to skool?"
That gpa...damn.

Nothing else matters but your LSAT and gpafiberisgood wrote:Reverse splitter and I'm planning to apply for this upcoming cycle. You should retake in October and try to score 168+ to ensure better scholarship offers in the lower t14

You're literally leaving money on the table if you don't retake for a higher LSAT. When you're working and having to pay an extra $X every month for 5+ years, I'm really sure you'll be glad that you rushed into law school.Nebby wrote:Nothing else matters but your LSAT and gpafiberisgood wrote:Reverse splitter and I'm planning to apply for this upcoming cycle. ... The person said no retakes! Come on Man! You'll be in line for a nice scholarship at GULC, for what its worth. You're pretty likely to get in at Berkeley, and have a good shot at UVA in my opinion.nunumaster wrote:You're literally leaving money on the table if you don't retake for a higher LSAT. Ahh Sorry for not being clearer. By no more retakes, I meant that I would have to wait over a year to retake again due to LSACs policy. That is why I am opting to simply apply and see if I can snag a T4-T8 with an ED. If not, I will gladly retake.

Sorry, I meant out of retakes. Does that change anything?ronanOgara wrote:Also, I wouldn't be doing my civic duty if I didn't say "retake."

Dood!! Don't ED. Holy shit! I personally know two people who did and got their dream: T8 school at sticker. 4 years later they are massively in debt, and never miss an opportunity to bitch about what a terrible decision it was. They are carrying 300K+ in loans, and even though they ended up at median and got V50 jerbs, they will be servicing that debt for the rest of their youth. No houses, no chance to start a family...fuck that noise.fiberisgood wrote:That is why I am opting to simply apply and see if I can snag a T4-T8 with an ED.
Don't financially cripple yourself. Retake that shit and DO NOT ED!

Ok, that changes my advice from what's come before...fiberisgood wrote:Ahh Sorry for not being clearer. Wait a year and then retake.

Yeah, unless the prospect of being ~$270k in debt excites you, you should wait a year. You'd be doing yourself a huge disservice if you ended up paying sticker at a t14 with a 4.0 gpa.
