Re: Would I have a shot at ANY decent school?
Probably, if you crush the LSAT. But if you're doing well at a BB bank tho I imagine you'll have some attractive career options that don't include 3 years of school and a lot of debt. And with that gpa, going to a good law school is almost guaranteed to cost you a fortune.

No idea without a Lsat score. Come back when you have that data. Your gpa is going to be very limiting so you need to really crush the Lsat. I'm taking 170+ minimum.

You don't need a 170. Certainly not for lower T14. A 165 should suffice, but try to get more for scholarship. If you get 170+, you're looking at everything not HYS and substantial money at lower T14.

From what I've read, probably not terribly much. It'll probably help you afterwards, but I'm not certain how much weight they'll put on it.
No matter what, you're going to need a good LSAT... law schools are not remotely as holistic as business schools. There are a lot of resources on numbers where you can see what kind of LSAT you need for what schools. Given your experience, you can probably get by on the lower side of the numbers or look at your odds as slightly better. Basically, you need a good enough LSAT to not be in the presumptive reject pile.

Just curious- what score would you guys say is sufficiently "killing it" for OP?

Re: Would I have a shot at ANY decent school?
173+. I still believe with his gpa he's is going to need at minimum a 168 to break through the t14. a <3.0 gpa and a 165 I think wont be sufficient. To get a scholarship, OP is gonna have to break 170 at least. If OP breaks 173, then I think he will be in a good spot to get a lower t14 with a decent scholarship.beenoparte125 wrote:Just curious- what score would you guys say is sufficiently "killing it" for OP?

Would a 170 be sufficient for T-14 admittance? (With or without $)grades?? wrote:173+. What about for a non-URM?

Re: Would I have a shot at ANY decent school?
For him? Probably. If you had the same gpa, with a 170, and non-urm? Crapshoot. Maybe a few waitlists but <3.0 really hurts. I would say you would pull maybe GT/Cornell if you got 173+. But even a 180/2.75 isn't guaranteed a t14 acceptance (non-urm).beenoparte125 wrote:Would a 170 be sufficient for T-14 admittance? (With or without $)grades?? wrote:173+. Re: Would I have a shot at ANY decent school?
Schools will care about that work experience because it will make you more employable, but it's hard to say how much they'll care. Not enough for you to slack on LSAT prep, so it doesn't matter much for what you need to do---which is focus on the LSAT.
Shoot for the best possible LSAT score you can and apply everywhere (even HYS). Don't try to predict where you'll get in---do your best and decide once you have the facts.

Honestly, networking and pure luck.zeglo wrote:How did you get a job like that with terrible grades?
Also, I think you have a good shot if you got a 170+. URM + good work experience + potentially good profile/story.
