Re: 3.3/170 ED UVA?
I'm against EDing anywhere that doesn't guarantee you a scholarship for it. If UVA is your top choice, go for it. But it's going to help less than you think and hurt your scholarship chances in a huge way.

Re: 3.3/170 ED UVA?
According to one analysis, which was based off of data taken from LawSchoolNumbers, students who apply ED to UVA have a 220% better chance of gaining acceptance to the school. However, that comes at the cost of an average ~$5,000 decrease in scholarship.
These numbers are best used as estimates, since the data they're taken from is self-reported, and probably not always entirely truthful / accurate.
Ultimately, it comes down to personal questions that none of us can answer for you. Is it worth it getting that boost at the cost of reduced scholarship opportunities? It's not for me, but it very well might be for you.
Students who don't choose ED fair pretty well at UVA with number similar to yours, anyways.

When I ED'd UVA in fall '12, I was able to informally discuss scholarship money. I ended up with an amount that was fair. You have nothing to lose by giving them a phone call.
Apart from that, you'd probably be accepted RD anyways.
