172 is good. If you're confident that you could have done more to prep, then I would say retake--it honestly can't hurt. Put simply--your chances at getting in are very good. Your chances of getting money are less good. I would retake, or more seriously consider schools like Michigan (also have great placement and are much more likely to give out money.
