Hi everyone. I thought I would do much better on the LSAT but I just got my score. It's 170. My undergrad GPA is 3.77 from a SLAC. I don't know if I count as URM but fwiw, I am an international student from Nigeria in the last year of a STEM PhD at a flagship state school. My goal is patent law.

What are my chances at H?

If youre a black nigerian, youre a urm. Im a nigerian canadian and applied last cycle. Just check the box. Lastly should get Harvard/Stanford with your numbers.

Thanks Nachoo2019 and jnwa. I was considering retaking in September but in light of your feedback, I will apply this cycle with my current numbers. If I don't get into H/S, I can always retake the test in February. But 170 feels a bit like not having achieved my full potential on the test. I am a little sad.

Edit: if i change the LSAT range to 168-170 it gives you a larger sample. But still pretty much the same

Have fun at Harvard, lmao. Retaking won't increase your chances of admission at any school except maybe Yale. However since your goal is patent law, I reckon your top choices would be Stanford (which is unequivocally one of the best schools for IP and patent law) and Harvard.
