Hello,
I have been working hard toward figuring out where I should apply. I would like a T-14 school, namely Harvard, but don't want to waste a lot of money on application fees. I am a native american male with a 3.42 GPA from LSAC and a 175 LSAT. I have worked my entire career of undergrad in corporate banking as a manager and even interned at a law office for 6 months. My lower GPA comes from health issues, family issues back home in my community, and having no choice, but to work full-time while in school. I am 28 and hoping to achieve my goal of becoming a lawyer. What are my chances of Harvard of a T-14? Is there anything else I can do to enhance my application?

You're probably in everywhere except Yale and Stanford (probably 50% chance at both) due to stats and urm status. I think your chances at Harvard are better than a coin flip if you write amazing essays.

Did you grow up on a reservation? Are you registered with a tribe?

No one got into Harvard on LSN with less than a 3.5 so far this year so i would be less optimistic(The 3.5 had a 179). I had worse numbers 3.3 173 as an AA male and didnt get a JS1. They defiinitely prefer reverse splitters. OP will probably get in everywhere outside of HYS though, im just not sure about the "better than a coinflip at H". Maybe im just jaded lol.Goldchain wrote:You're probably in everywhere except Yale and Stanford (probably 50% chance at both) due to stats and urm status. I did not grow up on a reservation, but I grew up where my tribe is located and yes I do have a registered tribal card. I have a strong upward trend as well with my GPA. My LORs - 1 from a business law course that the professor is an actual practicing attorney, 1 from a professor with a PHD teaching criminal justice in the political system, 1 - from attorney that I interned with which was a part of internship and a course I had to take.
As far as softs are concerned: I am a member of clergy (deacon) at my church, head of habitat for humanity in my area, and Boys and Girls club teacher. I also have been working in corporate banking for a bit, been a manager, not just an employee at multiple jobs my entire career.
I don't know what will happen with the GPA vs LSAT scoring, but I definitely have written strong essays as I've had them reviewed by several law professors of other schools.
I'll let you know what happens. My hope is Harvard, but we shall see!
