NU w/work experience? 3.87/165

Post by zoov » Sun May 08, 2016 11:00 pm

Am I out of line to think I could get money at a T14? Would ED Northwestern be out of reach?

-3.87 GPA (Business/Economics); 1.5 years work experience at time of application and over 2 years upon entering
-165 LSAT (retaking June; currently at a 167-168 range)
-Work for a large firm managing pension plans/benefits for client companies
-Part-time LSAT Instructor
-Multiple internships and good leadership positions in college

You will likely need to increase your LSAT to 167/168 to get some $$ from lower T14 schools, and 169+ to have a good chance of getting the NU ED $$$. NU likes those with work experience, and committing to ED clearly improves your chances of getting $$$. Go to mylsn.info and enter your numbers to get a good idea of where you stand. I found it to be surprisingly accurate (on the whole) in predicting outcomes.

A slightly higher LSAT will get you some money from the lower T14. With a 3.8/165 you can probably get into some of them but not with money, unless you're a URM.
