176/3.96 YLS chance/Money at T-14??
Top public for undergrad
Yale legacy (Mom)
Softs: Leadership, Internships w/ state atty. general & well-known NGO, worked part-time every summer/school year since high school
No URM status
Applying straight from undergrad
Any idea of chances for 1) YLS and 2) T-14 scholarship prospects? Thanks!

You're going to be choosing between HYS and named awards at some of the top 10. You're a strong candidate for every named award I think, including the Ruby and Hamilton

you can't really predict yls, but it's an uphill battle as a kjd, especially with average softs. predicting scholarships is tough too. i had pretty similar numbers and didn't get any full ride offers, but i only applied to the t6.

Not really. You don't want these schools thinking the 176 was a fluke (assuming OP only took once).yenisey wrote:176 and retake? That's insane!mukol wrote:Savage, but you kept it [fire][fire][100][100].Clyde Frog wrote:Retake. Shit's weaktlc224 wrote:Top public for undergrad

Yale is unknown, and you'll get T14 scholarships, but I wouldn't count on any named awards / full rides. You should get professional work experience before applying if you want outcomes like those. TLS overestimates the value of high numbers (for the very best outcomes, they're necessary but not sufficient).tlc224 wrote:Top public for undergrad

You wanna be collecting those 176s like it's nothing. Keep going, you're off to a great start.somethingelse55 wrote:Not really. Thanks everyone! Would retaking actually be a good idea? I'm not sure if it's worth trying to score higher and tbh don't really want to go through it again

They're joking/trolling. Don't retake. A year of work experience could help your app. Another go at the LSAT won't.tlc224 wrote:Thanks everyone! Would retaking actually be a good idea? I'm not sure if it's worth trying to score higher and tbh don't really want to go through it again

Could it be helpful to include a LoR from a past employer, not just from professors? To showcase work experience as much as I can

As a third letter, if it's really good/interesting/special, sure. Basically the only thing you need to be worried about is getting into Y, and for that you should read all of Asha's blog posts, in which she addresses this question and many others. Your main hurdle will probably be overcoming the KJD status.tlc224 wrote:Could it be helpful to include a LoR from a past employer, not just from professors? He's K-JD. Seems like most people around here don't understand sarcasm until they're at least 24 or so.mukol wrote:I question the 176 because OP didn't catch the trolling.WinterComing wrote:They're joking/trolling.
