3.2 GPA + Military Softs?
I know military softs are highly debated. Can 10 years of military WE, an Afghanistan combat tour with a meritorious service medal awarded, and a 170+ LSAT, make up for a weak GPA and get a non URM into a T14?

I think military soft is probably worth 1 or 2 LSAT points, or maybe .3-.4 GPA. I think guys with awesome interview skills and unique PS/LORs squeak into schools they shouldn't really get accepted to (I'm one of those dudes).
An MSM from Afghan service? Your S-1 pax F'ed you....not really supposed to get those in-theatre.

Anecdotal, but sub 3 GPA and 175+ LSAT got me into 8 and down with money, WLed from 4-7. USMA, 5 years as an officer with a deployment, no combat.

That's badass man. Not too many AD dudes have the time/aptitude to crack the 175 mark.Nagster5 wrote: 175+ LSAT got me into 8 and down with money
I had low 170's LSAT and little money from the bottom of the T-14, buuuut, I hung around longer after my mandatory service obligation, so I'm GI Bill eligible. Free at a lower-end T-14 is still acceptable I think. That's probably what OP should expect as well.
Hit some veterans up if you want help with PS/Resume.

Yes, but you need the LSAT to put you in the conversation. I know a non military guy with a 3.3/173 who just got good money at Columbia, so the LSAT is still going to be the biggest part of your package.porkles wrote:I know military softs are highly debated. Also, to the earlier poster, as of 9-11 you can get an MSM in a designated combat zone. It just looks sort of weird, I guess? I think it's just dependent on how your chain of command wants to do it.

Yea, the MSM is allowed, if OP didn't participate in combat operations. In some instances, an awardee can have the MSM converted to a BSM. Not that OP probably cares, nor will admissions people or anyone not in the army......
