170 with 3.81 GPA, MA URM Forum

I am planning to apply for next cycle, but had already signed up for the December lsat before making that decision. My softs are average, although I think they demonstrate my passion well.

I know URM cycles are hard to predict, but I was hoping to get some feedback as to which schools i should be looking at in terms of safeties, targets and reach schools.

Any thoughts or experiences would be helpful and appreciated!

First question: is that an estimated score, or was your first score a 170, and you're retaking the test?
If you're at a 3.8/170 right now, you'll have a fantastic cycle, blanket the T-14, as well as any regionals.

170 is my actual score from the Dec 2015 lsat, my apologies for not making that more clear.

As I said, I appreciate the feedback. For a few of the T14 and regionals, I am above/at the 75th for LSAT but between the median and 75th for GPA. Is a school like this considered a target?

If you're applying next cycle, I'd consider a retake if you can to get a couple more points. As URM and with a 3.81, you may very well be able to swing at least 1 of HYS with only a couple more points on the LSAT. Other than that, I think you're fine with most of the T14 with your numbers and URM status.

Thank you for your feedback rnoodles! I am still not against retaking in June, so that may be a worthwhile task for me.
