Horrendous 2.1 gpa, 167 lsat, WE Forum

So I have a horrendous gpa of a 2.1 and scored a 167 on my only attempt on the lsat. I have 3 years experience working in the biotech industry and am interested in either ip or health law. MD based.

I know my stats don't look good, but alot has changed about me.

Any chances at:

1.) University of Maryland
2.) George Washington
3.) George Mason

Where do you want to practice? It might be worth applying to Wake Forest if you want to work in NC, or Washington and Lee if you want to work in Virginia. With a GPA that low, it's hard to say where you'll be admitted. Mason and GW will probably be expensive options if you get in. You might have a shot at admission and $$$ at Penn State, if you want to work in PA. If you're looking at Philly, Temple might be worth an application. Good luck

I'm really based here in the MD/Baltimore area and would prefer to either really work in DC, MD, or VA. Family, friends and girlfriend are all here. I know I have an upward hill (probably mountain) to climb but in your opinion is UMD really out of the running? My two targeted schools have really only been University of Maryland and GW, but at this point I'm willing to move if the opportunity is right.

So in all honesty would waiting for the next cycle and retaking the lsat with hopeful intentions of 170+ help with admissions to either GW or UMD? Is really a 2.1/167 alot worse than 2.1/170? Don't really know where I can get accepted to in the DC/MD/VA area with my split. In all honesty I think it might not be worth it either.
